International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) wrapped-up its 49 edition by announcing the award winners. The Festival screened a black-and-white version of Bong Joon Ho’s Oscar-nominated Parasite, which won the IFFR audience award by receiving the highest score of 4.764 out of 5. While Ladj Ly’s Les Miserables came in second place with 4.676, the movie also won the IFFR Youth Jury Award. Both films were screened as part of the Official rd
Selection Out of Competition at the 3 edition of GFF, where Les Miserables won the Cinema for Humanity Audience Award, for exemplifying humanitarian themes.
Winner of El Gouna Silver Star for Narrative Film and Oscar-nominated Corpus Christi, directed by Jan Komasa, took the third place with 4.655. The film’s lead star Bartosz Bielenia was also awarded El Gouna Star for the Best Actor. Marayam Touzani’s Adam came in seventh place with 4.603. Adam won El Gouna Bronze Star for Narrative Film at the 2019 edition of GFF.
