Owing to his innovative work, Hamed has several awards under his belt, including Best New Narrative Director from the Tribeca Film Festival and a Golden Eye from the Zurich Film Festival. His most notable works include Yacoubian Building, Ibrahim Al Abyad, and Blue Elephant and its sequel.
