This panel will dive into the dynamic world of independent cinema resilience in the face of crises, with a special focus on trajectories of uprooting within Sudan and Gaza. In partnership with the Network for Arab Alternative Screens, this panel scrutinizes the strategic initiatives adopted by independent cinemas during tumultuous times. We will shed a light on how these cinemas creatively program, engage communities, and leverage networks to not only endure but also mobilize support – shedding light on the inspiring mobilization efforts in solidarity with Palestine.
